Katie got her first real job!! She is working at McDonald's in the heights. That may not seem huge but it is the start of her real Independence as a grown -up. It seems like once they get a job, they start to be gone more with their friends, and some of that innocence of being young is gone. Kind of like when your baby learns to walk. She's definitely passed another milestone in her life. To her its no big deal, but to the momma its HUGE!! She wants to save for a car and more short term a cell phone!! Funny the kid that would cry if you made her go to McDonald's as a kid (her brother and sister liked it) is now working there. Maybe thats a good thing, she won't eat much there then.

Love the new blog look. Love Katie's uniform. Just wait until my kiddos can go in and see her at work. She will move even further up the "coolest kid we know" chart!
I know the feeling! I keep telling all of my friends now that they should NEVER let their kids get a job because, as you said, jobs lead to independence and then they move OUT!
